Broccoli Salad

  • an extremely quick, easy and nutritious broccoli salad that can be made in minutes.

I live in a very busy household: kids all over the place, my wife commutes to Toronto, and every day of the week I’m somewhere different with my various endeavours.  Finding the time at the end of the day to eat healthily can be difficult. Here is another recipe for an extremely quick, easy and nutritious side salad that can be made in minutes.

  • 2 bunches of broccoli, chopped (including stalk)
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup apple cider/red wine vinegar
  • salt – about 1/4 tsp
  • pepper – to taste


  • Combine broccoli, raisins, sunflower seeds, onion in a bowl
  • Combine mayonnaise, vinegar, salt an pepper in a bowl/mason jar, combine well
  • Pour dressing over salad, combine well

Dr. Tim’s Tips

  • Experiment with the amount of salad:dressing for personal taste
  • Switch the raisins for chopped apples
  • Switch the seeds for crushed nuts of your choice: walnuts work well
  • For more protein, add crumbled bacon
